The Lexington Human Services is launching a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Series. Dr. Maryam M. Jernigan-Noesi, founder/CEO of Jernigan & Associates, LLC, launches the speaker series with a presentation that will provide a brief history and overview of racial trauma and its unique consequences for Black-identified individuals. An overview of the mental and physical health consequences of race-based stress and recommendations for how to cope and treat its consequences will also be presented. Dr. Jernigan-Noesi brings almost two decades of extensive training and work experiences in psychology and health, women’s health, as well as specialized training in youth, adult and family interventions.
