In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month that is coming up in May, Pre-K through 12th grade students are invited to help celebrate Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) who have made an impact on society or culture in the United States. Share about people in the AAPI community that inspire you and make you proud to be an American!
Entries can be in the form of pictures, posters, videos, or essays and will be accepted April 21 to May 21st. To keep things fun, each submitted entry will earn you a raffle ticket and we will have weekly drawings in May with FUN PRIZES, with a final live drawing on Thursday, May 27th.
For more details on how to participate and a list resources to help you get started, please visit: Proud to Be American: Celebrating Asian American Pacific Islanders
The program is open to all students who live in or outside Lexington. So help us spread the word. Invite your friends and family to participate also and challenge yourselves to investigate figures that you might not have heard of before and give voices to people who have helped to shape the history of the United States of America. This program is organized by CAAL, IAL, KoLex, JPLex, BALex with support of a growing list of community partners and sponsors.
