This is a 75-minute 3-character one-act play about the largely unknown meeting of enslaved African-American poet Phillis Wheatley and American Founding Father Benjamin Franklin. It was their first and only meeting, and took place in London in 1773, when she was there to help promote the publication of her book of poetry Poems of Various Subjects, Religious and Moral. Sponsored by the Munroe Center for the Arts.
