For LGBTQ+ Youth and allies
Ages 8-11: Thursdays 7:00-8:00pm, September 30 to November 18
Ages 12-15: Mondays 3:30-4:30pm, September 27 to November 15, 2021
Rainbow Artists is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ youth and allies to learn and grow creative expression skills with a community of peers. An experienced creative expression art therapist and an art therapy intern facilitate the meetings. The first seven meetings in the session will take place by Zoom. If it’s safe, the final meeting will take place in person in Lexington, MA; we will provide Zoom option if necessary.
During a session, the instructors guide participants through projects while also creating a safe environment for conversation. In our Fall 2021 session, we will introduce LGBTQ+ artists (and their styles and methods) from history — and bring in special guests to talk about their work and journeys as LGBTQ+ artists.
This program is supported in part by a grant from Community Endowment of Lexington (CEL). An endowed fund of the Foundation for MetroWest, CEL gives grants to enhance the quality of life for Lexington citizens.
