Patriots’ Day in Lexington – April 15th

Come join us for the Celebration of the 249th Anniversary of the Start of the Revolutionary War in Lexington on April 15!

The Sunrise Youth Parade and Ceremony includes the Lexington Minute Men, the LHS Band, youth organizations, youth sports organizations, schools, religious organizations and Civic Groups with Youth purposes and many others. Organizations should be not for profit.

New this year will be awards for the group with 1) the Largest Turnout, 2) Biggest Town Spirit, and, 3) Best Revolutionary Display, to be reviewed by the Town Celebrations Committee (TCC).  The finalists will be announced at the 8am Ceremony on the Battle Green have their photograph from the parade posted on Lexington TCC’s social media, prime reserved seating area by the viewing stand for the Afternoon Patriots’ Day Parade, and again acknowledged at the start of the Afternoon Parade by the reviewing stand announcer.

You do not need to participate in the review to march but you do need to march to be in the review.

Come on out and let the town know about your organization by marching in the Sunrise Youth Parade! Make your Banners and carry them in the Sunrise Youth Parade through the center of town and onto the Battle Green for all to see and learn about your organization.

High School Students are eligible for Community Service Credit for their participation.

When:   Monday, April 15, 2024

Time:    Line up by 7:15 am.    Step off at 7:30 am

Where: Line up at Cary Memorial Building Driveway

Parade will go through the center of town to the Battle Green for an 8am Ceremony.  The Ceremony will include the raising of the American Flag by the Lexington Minute Men, awarding of the White Tricorn Hat and the Minuteman Cane, announcement of scholarship recipients and TCC Youth Parade finalists, and more.
