Monday, April 29: Lexington Safe Routes to School Meeting, 4PM-5PM via Zoom: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84967391968

Wed, May 1: Statewide Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day How is your school celebrating? Check with your PTO or reach out to us to set up your own walking school bus or bike train.  Schools/PTOS/SRTS coordinators: Please register your school with MA SRTS if you are hosting events. They need not happen on May 1. You can choose a different day. If you want resources/prizes/swag, MA SRTS can provide you with that. I also have some items I may be able to provide. Please reach out!

Month of May: Clarke VS Diamond Middle School Commute Challenge! The school with the most student-powered miles (i.e. walk, bike, scoot, wheel, etc.) will win the Dawes Cup Trophy! Three students from each middle school with the highest miles will also earn prizes. For more info, email Shannon Murtagh:  shannon@jschwarz.com

Fri, May 3: Transit Explorers (6th-12th) Nothing to do on the half-day? Join us at the Community Center as we learn more about our local public transit (Lexpress and MBTA) how to plan rides, and then take a short trip on Lexpress. We will also stop for a treat along the way!

Sun, May 5: Bikeway Cleanup & Garlic Mustard Pull (good op for high school community service!) Pick one of six sections along the Bikeway and meet your crew leader there and other volunteers to clear a section of garlic mustard and pick up any trash, but usually it is mostly a garlic mustard pulling event!

Sat, May 11: Bike Rodeo (K-8) FREE event! Sign up in half-hour increments by grade level. Expect to spend about an hour total on-site. Great, fun way for kids to learn basic bike safety and handling skills! Kids leave with a Certificate and swag bag! We would love to see at least 100 kids here!! (High schoolers can also earn community service credit if they volunteer.)

Fri, May 17: Breakfast on the Bikeway (all are welcome, even youth and staff on way to school!) Food, freebies, info and fun along the Bikeway, behind the Depot (13 Depot Square).

Sat, May 18: Bike Smart Youth (4th-8th) More intensive bike education program than bike rodeo for kids ready to take the next step! They will also do a chaperoned short road ride at the end of the course if all are ready.Wed, May 29: Kids & Bikes: Wheeling Towards Independence A free online workshop and panel discussion where we will discuss how to get kids & teens started with biking, the basic bike safety parents/guardians and youth should know, all about bike trains, and helping older youth learn to navigate and feel comfortable and safe on their own.
